NEW BLOG: NBA comes to MCR

When the NBA Asked for “Old England” in Manchester…
When the NBA recently brought its Basketball Without Borders event to the National Basketball Centre in Belle Vue, Manchester, the city played host to some of Europe’s most promising young athletes. Selected from across the continent, they trained under the guidance of NBA legends and elite coaches. A truly world-class sporting moment early on in their careers.
Rockfield Media weren’t on the court, but when the NBA asked for an extraordinary welcome for their VIP attendees at The Lowry Hotel in Salford, we were introduced by Manchester City Council with one clear mission: create the look and feel of a traditional English pub.
And we delivered.
Working hand-in-hand with the hotel’s hospitality team and the NBA’s global events department, our team transformed the bar area in just a matter of hours. The result? A uniquely British setting where guests could enjoy pre- and post-dinner drinks with a smile. From pub-inspired décor to personal touches, every detail was designed to thrill, amuse and delight.
The highlight? Each guest took home a framed print of their very own “Old England” self, a keepsake that captured the spirit of the evening.
Feedback from the NBA’s Killeen Mullen Associate Vice President, Global Events, said it all: “It’s perfect, and exactly what I wanted. Everyone was delighted and blown away. Thank you so, so much”
Once again, Rockfield Media proved that when it comes to creative thinking, we know how to raise the bar.
